Craftsmanship.

Four pieces, made properly. What the cloth is, how the shirt is put together, and where the work happens.
The custom woven neck label inside the collar.

We would rather make a small collection properly than a large one quickly. Four pieces, each one tied to one place, restocked in weeks rather than seasons, and defended in a sentence.

The cloth

Both tees are cut from 6 oz extra-long-staple cotton jersey. Long staple means fewer fibre ends at the surface, which is why the fabric stays smooth through a wash cycle instead of pilling at the shoulders. It is substantial without being heavy, and it is never see-through.

The construction

Modern tailored, not boxy and not slim. Shoulder seams sit on the shoulder. The chest monogram is stitched rather than screened, so it will outlast the shirt. There is a custom woven neck label instead of a printed tag, which means nothing to cut out.

The finish

The hangtag carries full azulejo bands top and bottom rather than a motif in the middle, because Portuguese tilework covers the whole surface. The snapback's under-brim is lined edge to edge for the same reason.

Where it happens

Designed on the Ria de Aveiro, printed and embroidered to our patterns, then packed by hand in Toms River, New Jersey. Orders leave the bench in one to three business days.
